Our History

DAMA Philadelphia was launched in 1993 as a chapter of DAMA International. The chapter operates in affiliation with DAMA International and numerous chapters worldwide.

The Data Management Association (DAMA) International and the chapter DAMA Philadelphia are not-for-profit, vendor-independent, professional organizations dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices of enterprise information and data management, business intelligence, analytics, data science and related disciplines.

DAMA Philadelphia’s members come from all parts of the business and technology spectrum, and represent all levels of responsibility for the management and usage of data and information as assets to an organization, from senior leaders to individual contributors. Throughout its history, DAMA Philadelphia has been able to educate and connect business and technical professionals through demonstrating the need for improved data/information management.
